Some photos I took a while back of the guys in the band.
So... this movie "Sin City" is getting pretty good reviews... perhaps I'll see it?

I'm back from Italy, and things are super amazing awesome. Beck's new album "Guero" is out, and it's incredible. Also, I just heard they're making a second season of the Venture Brothers! Everything else is going awesome, too... WOO!
Pictures of Italy will be posted when they are developed.

Hey, sorry I haven't been around lately. My intar-nets have been broken. I will be going away to Italy for a while pretty soon, so posts may be sparse or nonexistent for a while. Anyway, here are your links:
- Singin' In the Rain with all new moves! - It's a VW commercial, but it's a masterpiece. I'd do anything to be able to dance like that. (Thanks, Rachel!)

- Spamusement! - Hilarious drawings based on spam subject lines (via)
- Invisible Actors - Quizzes in which the actors are removed from movie scenes in photoshop, and you try to guess the film. The quiz isn't the interesting part for me, though. I just like the floating clothes and glasses, it's really well done. (via, see also: Floating Logos)
- In 1964, a young Jim Morrison acted in a promotional film produced by Florida State - Yes, that Jim Morrison. (video, via)
- I don't know if you heard about what they're going to do to Bugs Bunny, what with the martial arts and laser eyes and whatnot. Once you get done being outraged about that, take a look at this hilarious flash animation. I've got to warn you, it's really not for the kids. Really raunchy. Don't watch this if you're a kid. Seriously. Ok, it's here. Not for kids. (via)

- Quentin Tarantino is going to direct the next "Friday the 13th" movie - He could take this anywhere. They've taken Jason to space, for god's sake. Or was that "Halloween"? Does it even matter anymore? Anyway, I'm excited.
- Russell Crowe: Al Qaeda target? - Back in 2001, the government took steps to protect Russell Crowe from being kidnapped by terrorists. They must have found out about that plan when Osama threw it away. Because it's ridiculous.
- Wooden Laptop - He completely replaced the plastic case with one he made from wood, leather, and brass screws. It would be complete if only he made the keys wooden as well. (via)
- "In The Rough" - The story and voice acting won't win any awards, but the visuals are gorgeous. (quicktime, via)
- "Total Eclipse of the Heart" performed with various household appliances as percussion - I'm not sure who these guys are, but this video is pretty funny. (.wmv, via Erik)

i am not in love
For those of you who are not in the know, I'd like to fill you in on a couple bits of information:
In my opinion, it is infinitely spectacular.
- I am a huge Fiona Apple fan
- Fiona's third album, which she finished recording in May 2003, has been shelved by Sony for "lack of commercial appeal" (they wanted radio hits, they got a very good but very odd work of musical art)
- Sony makes bad decisions like this all the time
In my opinion, it is infinitely spectacular.

- Chicken Vacuum - This machine sucks up chickens and stuffs them back in their coop. The video is extra awesome if you watch it while listening to "Mixed Bizness" by Beck. (via)
- The Internet Revolution has Little to do with Technology (via)
- PowerSkip - Crazy device lets you jump over cars. Check out the videos. (via)
- Let the Robots Fight - A little video about the future of robot warfare or something... I just thought the robot design was cool. (via)

CUSTOMER: I still want to rent Seven.
CASHIER: You're not allowed to.
CUSTOMER: Why can't I rent Seven?
CASHIER: Because it's over the limit.
CUSTOMER: Right, but I want Seven. Get rid of Ten.
CASHIER: (Pause.) That would leave negative three.

- Ultimate Shredding Machine - Plenty of videos of this beast "processing" everything from aluminum cans to a couch. Don't miss the washing machine video in which someone yells "SHRED IT!" Is it wrong to want to see a cow or something thrown into this thing? (via) (Also posted on Metafilter)
- Soldout's "I Don't Want to Have Sex With You" - Ok, I really don't like this song, but this is a novel idea. On their website, you can assemble your own mix of the song from different recorded tracks, and then you order a CD with the customized version that you made. Unfortunately, they don't have many different choices, so it doesn't change too radicaly, but the idea is awesome. Perhaps I'll do something similar... for free? (via)

stardrive

I bought this in some weird store for a dollar. The album art just impressed me so much... Check out that sweet band logo! I can't wait to hear it. (I have to buy a new turntable first! Darn the luck!)
Also, I set my dad up with a blog. You can visit it at joe.2nmusic.com. He's only got one entry as of right now, but it's awesome. Here's a little exerpt in case you're not sold already. It's on Hunter S. Thompson's suicide.
"I would guess that if his brains had flung themselves on the wall, either the EPA would've ruled it a medical waste spill and had the wall dismantled, encased in concrete and trucked to a toxic dump off in one of those square states out west, or it would've been named an historic landmark by the readers of Mother Jones. As it was, the bullet passed through his firm but pliable brains like a toothpick slides through a well cooked swedish meatball. No muss, no fuss."I'd buy that for a dollar!
PS Blogger fixed their lame comment system so I'm switching back to them. All comments made on haloscan will be forgotten.
