- Students using high frequency ringtone that adults can't hear - Originally used by the police to assault the ears of young rioters (or something), this tone has been turned against adults. Awesome. (via)
- Soft drinks: Unsafe Beverages - I started drinking a lot of Coke when I worked at Wal-Mart, and it screwed me up bad. I'll spare you the details. (via)

"There may be no better contraceptive than that show, as its pampered, materialistic brats are enough to make anyone reconsider procreation."

Beat Kitchen 05.04.06
I went to the show at the Beat Kitchen the other night, and was quite impressed! I don't think I've ever enjoyed a line-up this much. Light Pollution, which features my good friend Paul, started the show. Paul is an incredible guitarist, but in this band he plays an accordion, a trumpet, a keyboard, and a little xylophone. Here's what that looks like:

I was rocked. The next band was the Gunshy, which I hadn't seen before. They really blew me away, the lead singer literally foamed at the mouth he got so into it. Really great. Then I Need Sleep played, and I danced. Here's what that looked like (the playing, not the dancing):

Unfortunately I had to go home before the Robot Ate Me played, but I hear it was pretty crazy.

THE DAY THE LAWN WASN'T MOWED
On May 2nd, the front page of the Naperville Sun newspaper read "The Day the Lawn Wasn't Mowed." My jaw dropped out of my face when I read this. My copy of the paper got thrown out, but luckily Erik Abderhalden has posted a scan of the page on his blog. Apparently they've removed the story from their website, but they can't take back their words that easily.-D
UPDATE: Erik's been Waxy'd! I sent a little message to Andy Baio of Waxy.org about his post (Andy is the guy who inspired me to start blogging), and he posted it! CONGRATS, ERIK!

I also took the liberty of posting the story to Metafilter, and hopefully boingboing will pick it up... I'll keep you updated.
Video: Stephen Colbert speaks at the White House Press corps dinner - Holy crap, this is incredible. (via)
YouTube has taken the Colbert videos down because of "copyright infringement." Don't fret, though, because you can't stop the internets. The video can be found elsewhere.
